Yoga for Arthritis & Chronic Pain
Yoga for Arthritis is an evidence-based program based on over a decade of research. Ann works with people to develop creative ways to adapt poses & movements therapeutically using a chair, a wall, props, or a new perspective. Feel results instead of being held back by chronic pain, chronic dis-EASE, & arthritis.
Ann Swanson teaches the basics of the program at speaking engagements & in a 1.5-2 hour workshop. Often these workshops will have a mix of students with arthritis & yoga teachers. (Longer workshops available)
One-on-One Yoga Therapy
Ann works individually with clients to help them:

- delay surgery like joint replacement, strengthen to prepare for surgery, or recover from surgery
- develop a home routine
- adapt poses specifically for their body so that they can feel more comfortable attending group yoga classes
Live one-one-one sessions with Ann are available online from the comfort of your own home.
I have been a professional dressage rider for 40 years. I had a lot of injuries that resulted in arthritis in my back and knees and I felt embarrassed to do yoga in a class. Ann's kindness and expertise immediately drew me to her. Through the times she has taught me in my home, I have seen how yoga has helped with my arthritis in my day-to-day activities. I have been incredibly surprised at how much stronger I have gotten as well as flexible. I have been afraid about my knee replacement but developed a plan with Ann to modify the poses in the chair and bed. She used meditation with me to help me overcome fears and anger I have from my arthritis. I never thought I would be drawn to yoga but Ann has opened up a whole new world for me to heal!
